For Phyllis Dreger.

Hi Phyllis,

Here are bits and pieces I found which relate to some of your FACKLER names.
You may already have much of this, but some may help in your search for the
FACKLER lineage you mentioned.

The Huron Couny, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions book indicates Jonas FACKLER (ca
1799-1875) and wife Elizabeth (ca 1797-1866) were buried in Richmond Township
Cemetery, Richmond Township.

In William's History of Huron County, Ohio, Richmond Township, it mentions
that Jonas and his younger brother Jacob came to Richmond Township on 30 Apr
1837. They settled on lot 2, section 2.

Our Atlases show a progression of generational ownership of land by FACKLERs
in Richmond Township, starting with Jonas FACKLER.

In 1845 Jonas FACKLER owned land in section 2, lot 2 (abbreviated 2:2)..

In 1873, J. (Jonas?) Fackler owned land in 2:2.
A. FACKLER and P.O. FACKLER owned land in 2:1.

In 1891, Philip FACKLER owned land in 2:1.
Dan'l.FACKLER owned land in 2:2.
Jas. FACKLER owned land in 1:3.
M.C. FACKLER owned land in 1:18.

Our Death Index for Huron County, Ohio, 1867-1908, shows Jonas FACKLER d.
11/17/1875, Vol. 1, Page 49.

The 1870 Census Index for Huron County, Ohio lists the following FACKLERs,
all on census page 501 for Richmond Township, and presumably related.

Read first name, age, and place of birth:

Abram, 41, PA.
Adam, 10, OH.
Catharine, 12, Oh.
Daniel, 44, PA.
Eliza, 15, OH.
Elizabeth, 35, OH.
Ezra, 21, OH.
Finley A., 3, OH.
George H., 18, OH.
Jonas, 71, PA.
Margaret, 6, OH.
Martin L., 1, OH.
Mary J., 16, OH.
Nancy, 39, OH.
Olivia J., 28, OH.
Phillip, 30, OH.
Phillip, 9, OH.

Finally, Our 1880 Census Index for Huron County, Ohio shows:

Ezra FACKLER, Richmond Twp, 199C.
Philip FACKLER, Richmond Township, 194A.

Let me know if you would like any more specifics on the above.

Regards,

Ken Shute, Silver Spring, MD ().

Dear Mr. Schute,
I am attempting to locate the name of Ezra T.W. Fackler's father. My
grandfather was Philip Orville, and his father was Ezra. Ezra Fackler
was born May 1849 and died in 1921. He married Eleanor Murphy in 1871
in Huron County. They had at least 10 children, according to one source
(R. Battle), and one of them was my grandfather. He thinks that Jonas
Fackler was my great grandfather's grandfather, but is unable to figure
who his father was. Do you think you could help? Any help would be
appreciated. Best regards, Phyllis Fackler Dreger.
