Ken,

Thank you for the information on the Mary Ann and the Ellen Mesnard.
They were sisters. I am a descendant of Mary Ann and I am working with
two of Ellen's descendants on our family ancestry. I sent your
information on to them as well. So, thanks from all of us.

I have a another question though. I know you specialize in Huron County
info and this is a Lorain County question. So if you don't have anything
on it, I understand. John Wood and his father Tabor Wood owned a
furniture shop in Oberlin/Russia Township, Lorain County in the mid to
late 1800's. They made and sold their furniture in the shop. It could
have been called the Wood Furniture shop- I'm not sure of the name. It
was owned by John Wood (1824-1913) and Tabor Wood (1800-1891) of Russia
twnsp and maybe other family members too. Is there any thing in your
books on this place of business?

If you don't have anything, I'll contact Lorain County Hist Soc.. I
thought I'd take a chance and ask you first.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Carol,

Sorry, but the only publication we own on Lorain County, Ohio is the Index to
the Census of 1870 for Lorain County, Ohio, dated 1989.

It lists: Tabor WOOD, Russia Township, 0617.

John WOOD is not listed.

Have you tried the Lorain County, Ohio home page
(www.centurytel.net/lorgen/)?
Some of their links might be helpful, such as queries, volunteers who do look
ups, directories, etc.

Regards,

Ken Shute ().
