Ken,
I am looking for information on McPhersons. I had some from my line come to
your county from New York as well as Pennsylvania. Also, Dephine Hanna is
related to the McPhersons, she was at Oberlin College in 1885 and retired in
1920. I can send you my GEDCOM file, or my notes file if you interested in
having the information.
Spelling on McPhersons can be Mac, Ferson Phearson Furson Phirson and
AAferson
Thanks,
Lowell >>
Hi Lowell,
Sorry, but I don't do lookups on a Surname alone. It could be overwhelming ,
and take away from the time I can spare on lookups for others. For example, a
quick check of some of our Huron County, Ohio publications showed almost 120
references to the surname MCPHERSON. And that didn't include spelling
variations.. These publications included our Cemetery Inscriptions book;
Williams' History of the Fire Lands; the 1870 Census Index; and Baughman's
History of Huron County, Ohio.
If you go to the HCC/OGS home page (www.rootsweb.com/~ohhuron) and click on
the link "Lookups," you'll find the guidelines , and names of books, that I
and other volunteers use for their lookups.
If you have a specific MCPHERSON forebear that you know lived in Huron
County, Ohio, give me the full name, including middle initial if possible,
and any other details such as period and place of residence, and I'll be
happy to do a full search for the individual.
Regards,
Ken Shute, in MD ().
