I have not checked my mail recently, so I may be duplicating information you
directly received. I did a little research into the Ballwig family
recently, and would be glad to share what I have found. The following is

There was also a Peter Ballwig who went through the naturalization process
with Michael who I would guess was his brother (mentioned in other
responses), but I have no proof of that.

I also have the transcriptions of a half dozen obituaries for the above. If

with the obituaries and other sources of information.

Does the information from me and others match up with your Alfred & Leonard?
I would like to add the disposition of Alfred if you can verify the
information.
