I'm looking for a William Watson on the plat map in ripley, It's my
understanding he might be in Sec. 117- lot 69, possibly in 1845. Trying to
find out more about my ggg-grandfather any kind of help would be greatful

The index to our copy of the Plat Book of 1845 does indeed show a William
Watson
owning property in Ripley Twp, Section 1, Lot 17 on page 69.

However, there may have been an error in transcribing the name of the owner
of this property, as it appeared originally on the map, to the Index.

Our map shows a "Wm. Weston," not a "Wm. Watson," owning property in this
location.

Since the 1845 Plat book map appears as a link on the Huron County home page
(www.rootsweb.com/~ohhuron), you can view this for yourself. Go to the link
1845 Plat Book Map Images , then click on the link for Ripley Twp, Sect. 1,
page 69. Finally, go to the bottom row of lots for this section and count
four squares from the left, then three squares up. Thos will bring you to lot
17 with the name of Wm. Weston (not Watson).

I checked all of our other Huron County, Ohio publications for any reference
to "William Watson" without success.
