In a book titled "Genealogical and Family History of the State of
Connecticut: A Record of the Achievements of her People in Making of a
Commonwealth and the Founding of a Nation " Vol 3, there is mention of
Chapmans who might or might not connect to your family. Robert Chapman
came from Hull, England to Boston Aug 1635 and then on to Saybrook,
Conn. in Nov. He had a son Nathaniel born Feb 1658, who married Mary
Collins. They had 8 children. One of the 8 was another Nathaniel
Chapman b. 1683 in Saybrook. He married Elizabeth Spencer Aug 1709 .
They had 2 children Ichabod b. Oct 1710, and another Nathaniel Oct
1714. Hope someday you can tie into this.
