My grandfather contracted pneumonia in the 40s. He said to my dad, who had
gone to visit him at the small, local hospital, "Dutch, they're
experimenting on me." They used a drug called penicillin. Unfortunately,
it was too late to save the man's life. I just verified his date of death:
