Raymond,
We have two of the three marriage certificates that you requested. There
isn't much information in them.
The application for Homer ASHLEY and Jane STARR just lists their names and
that they applied on 17 Jan 1854. The certificate is just the minister
saying that he "solemnized the marriage" on 28 Jan 1854. His name is A. K.
Barr and he is a Presbyterian Minister.
For Matthew STARR and Loviah ARTHUR, there isn't a whole lot more. By then,
it was changed to an actual fill in form that the minister, a "Minister of
the Gospel", filled in for them. It says that they were married on 27 Sep
1855 in Greenfield. I can't read the ministers name, but it looks like
Enoch Canyon(?).
If you would like copies of the two certificates, please send $1.50 along
with a self addressed stamped envelope to my attention at the Norwalk Public
Library, 46 W Main St, Norwalk, OH 44857

Dear Deborah Orth,
I was wondering how much information is on the 1850s Marriage Certificates.
I would like to know if you have copies of:
Matthew McKelvy STARR and Loviah ARTHUR, 27 Sep 1855
Homer ASHLEY and Jane Elizabeth STARR, 27 Jan 1854
James LONG and Clara (Clarinda) Huldah STARR, 1 Jan 1856
Thank you,
Raymond Tompkins
