To the best of my knowledge, my great grand
father's name was Louis Urban who was born in Germany, at least that is
what is shown onn the death certificate of my grandfather Charles
Louis Urban.

Since my father died in 1929 when I was 3, I have had no contact with
any Urban's except
for an aunt Myrtle Urban Boyles long deceased.

Both my father and grandfather are buried in
the Ashland, KY cemetery side by side. Across the road from their graves
are the tombstones
of Jacob and Louis Urban who I believe were
two of my grandfathher's brothers.

The 1880 Boyd County KY census shows a
Charles Urban with the following family members;

Wife---Margaret 40
Son Charles 15
Son Jacob 12
Son Louis 9
Dau. Julia 7
Dau. Margaret 5
Son Frederick 2
Son Albert 4/12

I have a death certificate showing a Louis Urban who died in Newport KY
in 1952, and
was born in Louisville in 1871. If this is true,
the family probably immigrated to Louisville
and later moved to Ashland. I do know that
at one time there were Urbans scattered all
up and down the vlley from Cairo to Huntington
W.VA.

I don't intend to research the family back in Germany, but I would like
to know the following;

Great grandfather's name and burial site
Great grandmother's name and burial site.
Place of birth of the above
When immigrated annd on what ship.
Anyy other pertinent information.
