Another brick wall: Henry is my maternal grandfather that drowned in a
river in Ohio or WV sometime around 1916-1917. He was born abt 1885
someplace in Ohio tho I cannot obtain vitals on him. I have checked
several counties without success.
I cannot locate marriage records, nor death record. LDS not helpful
either.
Henry's father was John W. Barstow and mother was Mary M. Jackson.
Mary later married Hance Thompson. I located Henry in the 1910 Ohio
Census in the household of Hance and Mary Thompson.
What are the chances of there not being a death record since he
drowned?
I think he drowned in the Monongalia River near Fairmont, WV. (Family
story of a fishing trip with a couple friends.)
What counties does that river flow through? Any suggestions as to
where to look now? Anyone out there connected to this family? You may
