Rosanne,
Concerning your John & Sarah Mckenzie found in the 1850
census - I did a marriage look-up for you:
Knox County, Ohio marriages 1808-1875:
John McKinsey m. Sarah Presley
1 Aug 1849 by E. T. Brown minister
You won't find a birth certificate as early as 1829 - births
generally weren't kept until after 1867.
To trace John you would might try looking at the 1830 & 1840
census records to see which families had a son with a matching
age range. Try checking Wills for any McKenzie to see if a John is
named. Try index to deeds to see if there is a listing for a John
McKenzie - if so who did he purchase his land from? Sell it to?
Good Luck - Denise Crawford
