Hi,
I am looking for a John Beaver (or Beever) born in Franklin County PA about
1793. He was a saddler in 1813. He is found, I believe, in Antrim, Franklin
Co, PA in the 1820 census. Shortly thereafter he moved to Licking County.
His sons David (1818) and Ignatius (1820) were born in Pennsylvania. Sons
John (1827) and Anthony (1832) were born in Ohio. I believe I find him in
the 1830 census in Bennington, Licking Co OH. In the 1840 census he is in
Henry Co IL as John Bever. I believe there was also a daughter - she shows
in the 1830 and 1840 census. In 1850 John is found in Bureau Co IL. In 1860
he was in Jackson Co, IA. He then moved to Wilson Co KS where he died in
1878.
Does anyone have any evidence that the John Beaver I found in Bennington,
Licking Co, OH is not my John Beaver? Any ideas on what I might search? Is
there a list of saddlers in Licking County between 1820 and 1840? I hope
someone can give me a hint.
By the way Merla, your website is very well done.
