My O’Dell side is my brick-wall and I’m hoping one of you lovely people can help me out! I’ve been stuck for over 10 years now, and it’s very frustrating.

I’m looking for the father of Willard C. O’Dell. I have his death certificate and it does list a father and mother, but I think it might have been wrote wrong. It lists Bronson O’Dell as his father and Sarah as his mother. However, I have yet to find one Bronson, anywhere. I’m thinking it might be Ransom.

I know that Willard had some brothers. One was Dennis H. O’Dell and the other was Sam O’Dell from Ohio who came up for Willard’s funeral.

2. i. WILLARD C.2 ODELL, b. 1835, New York; d. April 13, 1882, Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan.


iii. SAMUEL ODELL.

Notes for SAMUEL ODELL:
In the Lapeer County Press Obituary it says that a Samuel Odell came up from Norwalk or Newark, Ohio for his brother Willard's funeral. I haven't been able to get any more information. The date of the paper was April 20, 1882.

iv. FRED G. ODELL, d. March 29, 1904.

Notes for FRED G. ODELL:
Uncle Dell has a picture of Fred taken in Alantic City, NJ. I am assuming that he is a son of Bronson. I could def be wrong, it could be the son of Dennis.

v. GEORGE ODELL.

Notes for GEORGE ODELL:
Again, Uncle Dell has a picture of him. Assuming he is a brother of Willard.

2. WILLARD C.2 ODELL (BRONSON1) was born 1835 in New York, and died April 13, 1882 in Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan. He married MARY M. ENGLISH October 01, 1860 in Lakeville, Oakland Co, Michigan, daughter of JALRIEL ENGLISH and ABIGAIL FLINT. She was born 1839 in W. Randolph, Vermont?, and died December 29, 1899 in Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan.

Notes for WILLARD C. ODELL:
Willard is listed as a registered voter in Elba, Lapeer County. April 1, 1876. residence is 19. He was a Republican.

Marriage Notes for WILLARD ODELL and MARY ENGLISH:
At the time of the marriage, Willard lived in Sanilac and Mary lived in Almont, Michigan.



Children of WILLARD ODELL and MARY ENGLISH are:
4. i. FRANK ELMER3 ODELL, b. March 09, 1866, Flint, Genesse Co, Michigan; d. June 16, 1953, Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan.
ii. WILLIARD R. ODELL, b. 1862; d. January 18, 1919.

Notes for WILLIARD R. ODELL:
I believe that I got these dates out of the bible at grandma O'Dells, which was Frank and Alices. The date of birth coicides with the 1880 Census of Lapeer County that lists Willard (44) , Mary (30) , Willie (18) and Frank (14) living in Goodland Twnshp.

I have it wrote down that he was born in Pa... from the Census maybe?


3. DENNIS H.2 O'DELL (BRONSON1 ODELL) was born September 16, 1833 in New York, and died November 09, 1908 in Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan?. He married OMENDA. She was born March 27, 1838 in New York, and died March 17, 1913 in Imaly City, Lapeer Co, Michigan?.

Notes for DENNIS H. O'DELL:
Dennis' information is gotten from a variety of places. He is burried in the cemetary in Imaly City where grandpa is. Also found him and his wife and child Fred in the 1870 Census. There are a couple of discrepcencies, he is listed as being 47, which would make his birthdate 1823. It is said that he is a farm laborer and was born in new York. It was on page 4, Attica, Lapeer County Michigan.

They were livin in Dwelling number 25, family number 26. Which was the family of Graham (can't read the name) and Grahm Lenora? I wonder if this is a mismark, or if they did live with them as they list a value for the home of the Grahms and the O'Dells. I have a copy of this census if it turns out they are the parents of Omenda.

There was also a picture of a Dennis W. O'Dell holding baby William Freeman, he was 73. Is this Dennis H. or another Dennis?
