Well, I recently got the Licking Co., Marriage books and so I went and looked. No sign of David, Jr., but it does have your John's marriage, I think. John C Conklin married Sally Cooly on 8 Sept 1828. Marriage was by Anson B Thrall, JP.

Unfortunately, as you may know, there were a couple of fires and there's a notation in the book, "There are no marriages recorded from 1829 to 1839." I suspect that David's marriage, if it was in Licking Co., was in this period.
