My Logan County Surname is RULE. My ancestor, James Monroe RULE was born
in Bellefountaine, Logan Co. on December 30, 1830, died in Logan, Harrison
Co., IA December 28 1879. His parents are unknown but one bit of oral
family history has his mother's name as Helen MCDONALD. James' first born
son's name was Lawrence, and I have found a Lawrence RULE living in Logan
Co on the 1840 census. Perhaps this is his father. This line is one of my
dead ends.
