I'm looking for anything re: Philip MATHEWS, Sr and wife Rachel. Moved to
Logan Co. in about 1809 from ? with four sons, Philip, Jr, Henry, David and
Alfred. Philip, Jr, married Jane Truit (from KY) and I think that Henry
married Jane Lee. I know nothing about the others. There is an Alfred
MATHEWS (1801 to 1881) buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasant Twp who may
be one of Philip and Rachel's sons. Also, in "History of Logan County" (p.
328) it states "..the first and probably only tavern built in Bellefontaine
was owned by Edwin Mathews." If anyone knows anything about these folks,
I'd appreciate hearing about it.
