My dad always talked about living next to some railroad tracks; he grew
up at 327 E. Main, Amherst. What line would it have been in the 1930's
to '50's? And is it still running?

Also, would anyone be willing to do an obituary lookup for me? It would
have to be in the Amherst paper; probably the News-Times? My
great-grandfather, Henry Short, died in 1943, but I don't know a more
specific date. However, he lived with his son's family at the time, at
327 E. Main; Herman and Anna Short, with son Ted in residence. Henry is
buried in the Cleveland Street cemetery; his wife Augusta as well,
although I believe they were living separately until her death in 1940
(they fought, alot apparently).

I live in Tacoma Washington, so if there is anything I can do to
reciprocate, please let me know.

Thanks so much,
Anna Hanson
