Hi Lola,
I believe the birth and death records began being kept in 1867. Not all
births were recorded, but many were. The LDS Family History Centers have
filmed the records from 1867 through 1904 (I believe. I'm not looking at
the films right now.) When I viewed the films it appeared that some pages
may have been missing or skipped in the filming. However, I found several
of my ancestors birth records. Two of the film numbers are 1294335 and
1294334. However, I believe there are 3 films, and I'm not sure about the
number of the third film. You can find it by going to www.familysearch.org
and checking out their catalog of films. The films may be rented for a
small fee and viewed at your local Family History Center. They should be
listed under Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Good luck in
your search.
