For Karen Henderson:
Toledo Blade obit index (thru 1969)
No Oliver's
1927 Toledo City Directory
Oliver, Chas. H. (Mayme), clerk, home 4123 Garden Parrk Dr.
Oliver, Chas. O. (Margaret), eng[ineer], home 2143 Dana
1910 Toledo City Directory
Oliver, Chas. M., cigar manufacturer, 632 Palmwood, home 922 Palmwood
Oliver, Chas. S., trimmer, rooms 721 Adams St.
No Oliver's listed as carriage makers or blacksmiths in 1910
At this point I am thinking that perhaps he "works" for a carriage maker, and lo
and behold in 1905:
Oliver, Charles H., foreman, Milburn Wagon Co. [located on Monroe St.],
boards 2333 Detroit Ave.
I made copies and will send them if you let me know your land mail adress
(privately).
So it looks like none of the 1910 or 1927 Oliver's are yours, but now we can
start searching either side of 1910 in the directories [and in the 1900, 1910
census]. The Milburn Wagon Co. was a large operation in Toledo from at least the
1880s up to 1920. My great-grandfather, Henry Fuchs, had a saloon just across the
railroad tracks from the wagonworks from 1889 until 1897. I have a photograph of
the saloon and you can see the wagon factory in the background. There is material
and photographs in the library's collection on the Milburn Company.
For Susan Newell:
No listing of any Kinninger's in the Toledo City Directory for 1928, 1927, 1910.
I even checked Kenninger. I thougt it strange since you mentioed that Frank
Kinninger worked for the Toledo Blade. I checked the obit index (thru 1969) and
found two Joeseph Kinninger, but again no Frank:
Joeseph Kinninger died on 7MY1913 in Wapakoneta, OH, age 67.
"He died of Bright's disease. He is survived by his wife and eight children."
Joesph Kinninger died in Elsworth, KS on 20AU1897 [obit 24AU1897], age 72
"He was formally a resident of this city [Toledo]. Ashland , O. papers please
copy."
No other details in either obit. I made copies and will send them if you let me
know your land mail adress (privately).
for Susan Schloseer:
1927 Toledo City Directory
Boos, David, 22 West Park St.
Anderson, Edw. J., attendant, national refining Co., resides 153 Gibbons
Anderson, Edw (Lula), laborer, home 3119 Wilcox
no Georgianna's
1928 Toledo City Directory
There is no David, but I find a Maurice A (Jessie) Boos, cooper [barrel
maker], residing at 22 West Park.
Anderson, Edw (Lula), laborer, home 3119 Wilcox
Anderson, Edw. D (Forest), carpenter, home 1117 Madelene
Anderson, Edw. J. (Olga H.), inspector, home 805 Norwood Ave.
1910 Toledo City Directory
no David Boos and no matching Anderson
>From the Toledo Blade obit index (thru 1969) I found David Boos of 22 W. Park who
died on 14 December 1927, age 82. The death notice was in the 14DE1927 paper and
an obit was in the 15DE1927 paper.
"Funeral services at the home of Mrs Edward C. Anderson, 22 West Park St.for
Mrs. Anderson's father, David, 82 who died Tuesday. Burial will be in Fountain
cemetery, Fostoria [Ohio]. Mrs. Anderson, another daughter, Mrs. Ollie Malloy and
a som Maurice Boos survive."
There were nine Edward Anderson obits a Georgina (who did in St. Paul, MN on
31MY1958, age 78). I see that two of the Edward's were Edward C. One died
12SE1930, age 57, the other died 3AU1969, 1ge 62.
I made copies and will send them if you let me know your land mail adress
(privately).
Sorry for not being able to do more. I had some of my own to do also. I will
probably be back there next Thursday.
