Searching for descendants of Peter and Sarah Lee Gary. Name could be
spelled Garey/ Geary. I believe some of them may have lived in the
Toledo area. Peter was born in Somerset County, Pa. in about 1890 he
rec'd his Civil War Pension and packed up his entire family and traveled
to Bradner, Wood County, Ohio. In 1907, Sarah died and Peter and his son
Daniel moved back to Pennsylvania. Peter died in 1909 and is buried in
Somerset with his Father and Grandfather. Samuel, Charles and Edward are
also buried at Bradner, but I am still looking for descendants. Also,
Peters Grandfather had a brother Killian Gary who lived at Fairfield
County, Ohio. In 1833 he died and his family is believed to have moved
to Toledo, Ohio, also to Buffington, Wells County, Indiana. We would
like to hear from this family as well.
Recently a family member found a postcard with the picture of Jennie
Gary , 1912 in an antique shop in Toledo, She was a school teacher and
was writting to a student by the name of Akney.
Haven't found out yet if he bought the postcard or not.
