To Linda and Lucy,

I have had a similar experience when I have gone to the Health Dept.
Luckily most of the time I have picked a time when I was the only one.
I don't think they are as busy in the winter. I had a nice lady who really
helped me
and even let me look at more certs than I should have. The death certs I
ordered on people in the 1900 were sent to me usually in a couple weeks. The
ones in the 1800's are only sent out once a month and I did receive most in
about 4 weeks. They do the 1900's first even if ordered at the same time.
Depends on how backed up they are. If I need more than 3 I sometimes go back
the next day or the next. As you know tuesday through thursday are their
genealogy days there. Since I live about 15 minutes from the Health Dept.
if they are too busy for me I go back later.
