This was a common advertisement on the back of CdVs (albumen print images) popular
from 1860 until, the end of the century. These negatives were glass plates and hence
the likely hood of a great number of these surviving today is small. However, the
images (CdVs) do survive and offer a look at our (especially Lucas County) ancestors.
By the last quarter of the 1800s the image format became larger...cabinet cards.
Information about the photographer is often helpful in dating the photographs and
helping with research. My wife and I just spoke at the Sterling heights (Michigan)
Genealogical Society on nineteenth-century photography and genealogical research.
I have a copy of _Ohio Photographer_ and will be happy to do look-ups.
