Janet Sue Schacht, age 65, of Brookside Drive, Woodville, OH, passed away on
Saturday evening, September 29, 2001, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Janet
was born June 28, 1936, to Robert and Janice (Folkes) McCaughey in Toledo,
OH. She married Cecil Schacht on January 29, 1954, in Michigan and he
preceded her in death in 1979. Many knew Janet as a teacher's assistant for
multi-handicapped children and having served on the Wood County Board of
Education for over 15 years. She was formerly a member of First St. Mark's
Lutheran Church, Oregon, OH, where she was a former Sunday School and Bible
School teacher. Currently she was a member of Salem Lutheran Church
Pemberville, OH, where she was a member of many organizations. Janet also
belonged to Freedom American Legion Post #183 Auxillary of Pemberville, OH,
and was a volunteer for Planned Pethood of Toledo and the Wood County Humane
Society in Bowling Green.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Schacht) Nusser of Woodville; 3
sons, Robert (Lisa) Schacht of Pemberville, Matthew Schacht of Toledo, Andy
(Amy) Schacht of Luckey; mother, Janice McCaughey of Toledo; brother-in-law,
Eugene (Janet) Schacht of Oregon, and seven grandchildren. Her father,
Robert, and sister, Doris BeDee, preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday October 3, 2001, at 11 a.m.
from Salem Lutheran Church Bradner Road Pemberville, OH, where there will be
additional visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the services. Visitation
will be held on Tuesday October 2, 2001, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Marsh
Funeral Home Luckey, OH. Rev. Daniel Sander will be officiating. Interment
will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, OH. Those wishing to give a
memorial contribution may wish to consider Salem Lutheran Church or Hospice
of Northwest Ohio.
