Yours was a quick response!
I am not certain you are able to help me in any way. My research is directed to my great grandfather, Wilhelm Obrist (later changed to William Oberst), who came from Germany in the mid 1800's. He was born in 1844 in Schopheim, Germany and died in 1910 in Toledo. He came to this country with his father, Alois, and mother and siblings. The first record of him is the 1870 federal census when he was living in Bay City, Michigan. He later moved to Monroe, Michigan and then to Toledo. I would like to find his arrival in this country and how he happened to get to Michigan.

Another great grandfather is Charles Albrecht (Albright) who was born in year 1845 in Germany and immigrated to this country in 1865. The Miller connection is my great grandmother Minnie Miller who was born in Toledo in Toledo in 1859. She married Sylvester King in 1877 or 78 and they lived in Toledo their entire lives. I have not been able to find any information on the ancestors of these individuals.

I live in Jackson, Michigan and need to get down to Toledo for further research.
