In case you are doing research in the U.S. - Ancestry.com just put up ALL the
available census indexes online. You type in the name and it tells in which
state that name can be found and for which years. It is a subscription
service but has many searchable databases (over 800) which can be a real plus.
Remember, you always need to check the original records if you find a match.
