Oh durn. That would be mind boggling. We've not found any help with my
husband's John Harding, Jr., either.
His grandson, Lewis Harding, compiled a county history in 1922 or something
like that for Decatur Co., IN and gave John's information. On John's
tombstone is his birthday, place, and father's name.
But then we deadend.
Some people suggest he was actually born in Fayette Co., PA but believed it
was Augusta Co., Va. This was Oran's suggestion, but I disagree.
But the way the old man talked about traveling over the most difficult of
mountains leads me to believe it is Augusta Co., Va. Fayette Co., PA, all he
had to do was travel the Ohio River to Bracken Co., KY.
