Thank you for the response. I do not know if there were relatives in MI or not but there could have been. There were more NIGHTINGALE's in OHIO that I have not researched. There was another William NIGHTINGALE around Mahoning/Trumbull/Cuyahoga counties that possibly could have been a brother to Sarah since her father was William. I did not see him listed in the census in England. However, he could have already been married by then and also emigrated to USA. That is a connection that will probably only show up when another Nightingale descendant related to him traces the family. It's the documentation that will tell.....death records, marriage and Naturalization records etc.
Have you traced your family in that manner at all yet? What do you know so far?
