Re your inquiry: I haven't come across that name, but lived in Susanville from
1964-1996; Check out the Lassen county USGENWEB page, and contact Tim Purdy. He
is the local historian for the area. There were some "Prunty" family members in
Susanville, maybe the spelling was changed? Anyway, Tim might be able to help
you.

FYI: Susanville was not a gold rush town. It is located in northeastern Calif.,
85 miles NW of Reno and 102 miles east of Redding, and 60 m. east of Mt. Lassen.
The best book on the area is Asa Fairfield's History of Lassen County. If you can
get a copy on interlibrary loan, the author lists many early pioneer names in his
book. The Lassen County Library in Susanville has some copies, and I assume the
Calif. State Library does as well.
