John FRIES died at the home of his son-in-law, Noah LEATHERBERRY in Marion Co. in 1846. An article states that "John Jr. was the present Representative in Congress from the 47th district in this State." I have been unable to find any info. about legislators from this particular district.

Searching for the whereabouts of Noah and Martha LEATHERBERRY and John FRIES Jr. after 1860. The LEATHERBERRYS lived and owned land in Marion Co from early years, but they are not listed in the cemetery records that exist for that county. They must have moved to another county. Does anyone have access to a statewide census index for 1870 and 1880 who could check the names of LEATHERBERRY and FRIES for me? Interested in any info. on these surnames. Thanks, Jean Silverthorne
