Regarding Ovington Day, who adopted Lester CLELLAN, I belive there may
be a connection to my family. I am looking for info on the children of
William A. Clelland and Elizabeth Ricketts. Among their children was Lester
W. CLELLAND, who was believed to have moved to Douglas, Wyoming, during
his adult life.

Other children of William and Elizabeth was William CLELLAND Jr., born
about 1837, who was a known resident of Marion County, Ohio in the 1840's.
William Jr. is listed as the son of the late Elizabeth Rickets and as a
a minor heir to his grandfather, Charles Ricketts, who died in Nov. 1845
in the Partition Record Abstracts in Fairfield County, Ohio in 1845.

It appears that William, Jr. (age 8) was indeed orphaned by 1845 so it
seems logical that his brother, Lester, would need to have been adopted.

Other known siblings include Mary A. Clelland (of Hardin County, Ohio),
Daniel Webster Clelland (of Fairfield County, Ohio), Adelaide Adeline Clelland
(of Fairfield County, Ohio) and Martha J. [Clelland] Hoshor (of Fairfield
County, Ohio).

Any info you have about your Lester Clellan would be appreciated. Would
be interested in sharing info.
