Dear Suzan, Here's he information I have on the Brady's in Marion Ohio. My
Grandfather Guy Walden Brady was born in 1861 in Marion, He was on the 1870
census living with Dexter and Anne(Amy) VanHouten Bates. My Grandfather had
a first cousin named Broddus Bates. So I assume that Guy was living with
his maternal Grandparents. I don't know the names of Guy parents, but
according to the records Martin Brady & Betsey(Elizabeth) Bates were married
on 24 Jan 1859. My grandfather had a son whose name was Lester MARTIN
Brady. My grandfather has a sister named Belle, this info from a cousin,
Dexter Bates mother's name was Isabella and I believe that Belle could be a
nickname for Isabella. Now, regarding William Brady, it could have been
either Martin' father or brother who secured the marriage licence, but most
likely that his father would have secured the license. But Martin could
have had a brother named William, In all my searching I can't remember
coming across the name of Aaron, but the name of Lavina is seen quite
often.. Dexter and Anne Bates had five children, John, Peter, Elizabeth,
Harriet and Isabella, and I believe that Elizabeth is my Ggrandmother. I
couldn't find Martin, Elizabeth and Belle on the 1870 census and I have been
thru it 3 times. I did find an Elizabeth and Ida C, both the right age but
living with a William Cooper family. I am now going to send for a birth
certificate for my grandfather and see what information I can get from
there, if it doesn't give me the information that I am seeking I will then
send for his death Certificate from here in California. As you see I don't
have very much to go on, but the names, places, and dates do give me a clue
and there are several coincidences, especialy the names. I have lots of
information on the Bates, but havn't had anybody give me anything on the
Brady's. I have this same thing on two other grandfathers were I havn't
been able to find the connection to what info I have. I hav'nt been much
help,but the Aaron gives me another name to look for. If I find anything I
