Fran,

The fact that census takers often could not spell and sometimes could not
write legibly makes the work of a census indexer quite difficult. If you
look in Prospect township on page 16 in the 1850 census, you'll find someone
indexed as "Frederick Raunoser." I'll bet that is your Romoser family.

In 1840 there is a G.F. Reimosher in Richland Township, page 70, that you
may want to take a closer look at.

happy hunting,

Sharon

Does anyone know where I might find the date that the ROMOSER family
emigrated to Marion Co, Ohio? Some of the children were born in Europe and
some in Ohio. It must have been around the 1830's, but I have not been able
to find the name, ROMOSER, on a census list before 1860.

Thanks,

Fran
