I am David Bonnett residing in Terre Haute IN. Am searching for all information on Carl I. ERNST.

The following is what is known and proved on Carl I. ERNST.

Name: Carl I. ERNST is also found to be "Chas." I. ERNST on one record. Carl's middle is Iynaz on his marriage license.
Birthdate and place: 1869 is date on gravestone and from marriage license. Marriage license lists "Germany" as birthplace'
Carl I. ERNST's Parents: From marriage license, Father is Wm. ERNST, and mother is Catherine Ziemer (interpreted from writing).
Marriage: (All data here from the marriage license.) Married Anna Teresa BONNETT of Michigan, age 17, her parents are John Anthony BONNETT and Caroline (Jantz) BONNETT. Carl I. ERNST lists his age as 27, he resides in Marion Ohio, and lists his occupation as a brewer. Marriage date is 26 January 1897, and place of marriage is Terre Haute IN at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Children: Only known child is Carl E. ERNST, born October 1899, in Newport Kentucky (from the KY 1900 Census.)

Note: The KY 1900 Census records Anna Teresa (BONNETT) ERNST's birthdate as "Feb. 1874" (age 26) as opposed to a calculated birthdate of 1879 from marriage license.

Carl I ERNST and family residing in Newport KY in October 1899 for birth of his son according US Census. Census lists his occupation as brewmaster.

Newport KY City Directories for 1900 through 1908 find Carl I. ERNST and family living at various address in Newport KY, and his occupation as a brewmaster at the Geo. Wiedemann Brewing Company.

The Kentucky Post newspaper reports Carl I. ERNST's death on 10 February 1908. The Kentucky Post (11 Feb 1908) reports cause of death as "Grip". Carl I. ERNST listing in the "Register of Deaths" cause of death is Typhoid and Pneumonia. The Kentucky Post reports (12 Feb 1908) on Carl I. ERNST funeral mass and burial in St. Stephans Cemetery on 12 Feb 1908.

Carl I. ERNST was apparently moved on 31 March 1908 to Evergreen Cemetery in Newport KY, where we find him buried today.

Carl's widow Anna T. (BONNETT) ERNST is reported living in Newport KY at various addresses in the Newport City Directories 1910 through 1914.
It is known she remarried a "Riley" Dorsey and lived out her life in Detroit Michigan.
