Subject: [OHMEDINA-L] Medina Naturalizations; probate records
Date: Wed, 13 May 1998 08:45:33 PDT
Have written to Penny Lovejoy of the Medina County Probate Court
requesting naturalization records re several relatives. Have included
dates, pages and volumes. While Penny usually sends me lovely chatty
letters along with information, she has twice ignored this request. I
understand that there is a --to date-- unsubstantiated rumor that that a
new, highly placed court official was successful in his/her efforts to
throw out old records....Does anyone know if this is true.
I have also requested copies of a will, deposited at te court in 1861,
and, according to court records, never pulled for probate or any other
reason. Initially she sent me information on my gggrandfather's
namesake who died in the 1950's. Six months ago, I sent a second letter,
pointing 100-year error and again requesting the will. Still no answer.
QUESTION: Would the OGS or Ohio Historical Society have copies of
either/or
