Oh, come on Mark! Just because here in AZ we've had more rain than Ohio
has this year - well, at least this summer! And YES, folks, it is still
summer here. It's only Oct. :) And still HUMID!!! yuk. And yes, Phoenix
has so many people pretending to live in the Midwest (watering grass of
all things!) that it is no longer dry. . .

I really couldn't picture dead corn fields in Ohio, but there they were,
dead as the CHASEs in our family. While I was researching in Pomeroy, I
copied a whole potful of stuff in the probate department on the Chase
family. I'd like some ideas on sorting it out, please.

George W Chase (2/25/1830-12/10/1910 Meigs Co) married 3/24/1850, Mary
Ann Bradshaw (12/10/1828 - 9/24/1893). Their children:

Perry, b Dec1851-1852
Melvina, b Oct 1851-1917
Perrin J, b 1853-1869
Cephus J, b 1855
Martha, b 1857-1930
Emma J 1857-1859
Samantha 1859
Lincoln 1862
George C 1864-1864
Arthur 1856 - I think he may have been a ward

George C, Perry, Perrin and Emma are buried in the same plot, indicating
they may be siblings. Looks like they are in the same plot with George
and Mary Ann. Could be Melvina was actually born in 1850.

George W appears to be the son of Thomas Jefferson Chase and Rebecca
Romine, according to Ohio Pioneer Families. Any ideas on who TJ's parents
were? John Merrill Chase maybe?

Am I Chase-ing alone?

Thanks,
Betty
