POMEROY - Kimberly Dent Kiser, 31, of Pomeroy, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at
Veterans Memorial Hospital in Pomeroy.
Born July 31, 1968, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of Benney and
Patricia Kittle Dent of Pomeroy.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Scott Kiser; and a stepdaughter, Ashley
Dawn Kiser.
There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at a
later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Athens County Children Services,
attention Denise Davis, P.O. Box 1046, Athens, OH 45701. The funds will be
used toward the purchase of playground equipment.
Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home.


POMEROY - Leonard Franklin Lewis, 63, of Pomeroy, died Friday, March 17,
2000.
Born Nov. 13, 1936, in Warwick, he was the son of the late Wilbur Lewis and
Frances Roush Lewis Miller of Letart.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Bell Lewis; and a son, Mark Fitzgerald
Lewis.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home in Pomeroy, with
burial in Meigs Memory Gardens.
Calling hours will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

POMEROY - Albert Emmett Parker, 73, of Pomeroy, died Friday, March 17, 2000,
at Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1927, in Chester, he was the son of the late Ralph Emmett Parker
and Mary Philson Smith Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kibble Parker; and children David Orville
Watson, Byron Marquis Watson, Joseph Leon Wilson, Ira Renee Richard, Lisa Anne
Wilson Saunders, Teresa Marie McKelvey, George Albert Parker, Thomas Matthew
Parker, Francis Anthony Parker and Mary Magdalene Brown.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home with burial in
Mound Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral
home



MIDDLEPORT - Lula M. Quivey, 94, of Middleport, died Friday, March 17, 2000,
at Pleasant Valley Hospital in West Virginia.
Born March 12, 1906, in Middleport, she was the daughter of the late Claude W.
and Rose Ellen Phelps Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leo Quivey. A son, Arthur
Quivey, survives.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home in Middleport,
with burial in Middleport Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.



POMEROY - Robert W. Mahr Sr., 67, of Pomeroy, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at
the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
He was born on June 3, 1932, in Columbus to the late Lester and Ruby McClain
Mahr.
He is survived by his wife, Freda Heitger Mahr; a daughter, Arlene Whitten;
and stepsons Bill and Gary Foley.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home in
Pomeroy.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in
Carleton Cemetery.



RACINE - Mary Elizabeth Roush, 90, of 48360 Carmel Road, Racine, passed away
at 7:18 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2000, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born Aug. 10, 1909, in Pomeroy, she was the daughter of the late George
Phillips and Arabella Skinner Daniels. She was a homemaker and was a
bookkeeper in her earlier years. She and her late husband, Edson Roush, were
prominent Sutton Twp. farmers and were the owners of Locust Grove Farms. She
was a member of the Carmel United Methodist Church, where she served as a
Sunday school teacher and the church treasurer. She was a member of the Farm
Bureau and was a former member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
She married Edson Roush in January 1936, at Locust Grove and he preceded her
in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Daniels;
and three brothers, Dr. Manning Daniels, Dr. Roger Daniels and Hugh Daniels.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Honorable Judge Barbara Roush and
Dr. Walter Watson of Kent, and Marilyn Roush and Dick Young of Sidney; six
grandchildren, Barbara Watson Moorhead of Austin, Texas, Brigid Watson of
Boston, Mass., Edward Young of Philadelphia, Pa., Mary Elisa Young of Athens,
David Young of Knoxville, Tenn., and Erick Roush Young of Danbury, Conn.;
seven great-grandchildren, Owen Moorhead, Ethan Moorhead, and Oona Moorhead,
all of Austin, Texas, Janella Young of Knoxville, Tenn., Erick Behymer of
Athens, Heidi Young of Knoxville, Tenn., and Ebony Robinson of Danbury, Conn.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date and will be announced.
Interment of the cremains will be at Carmel Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be at 6 tonight in the Fellowship Hall at the
Carmel Church. Friends and family are asked to bring a covered dish, along
with pictures and stories to share. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
can be made in Mary's memory to Carmel United Methodist Church, c/o Rev.
Dewayne Stutler, 48411 State Route 124, Racine, 45771; or to the United Nation
in Ohio, c/o Elisa Young, 5200 West Bailey Road, Nelsonville, 45764 for the
Elders Building Fund.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Cremeens Funeral Home,
Racine.




RACINE, Ohio - Harry Carlos Hill, 87, of Racine died March 21, 2000, at home.

He was a farmer and a member of Masonic Lodge 164, Pomeroy/Racine, and Aladdin
Shrine, Columbus. He was the former president of the Southern Local School
Board, a central committeeman and a Letart Township trustee.

Surviving: wife, Katie L.; daughter, Janice Glenn of Racine; sons, Paul E. and
Charles T., both of Letart Falls; brother, Dallas of Apple Grove; several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Racine, with the Rev.
Rick Rule officiating. Burial will be in Letart Falls Cemetery. Friends may
call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood,
W.Va., where there will be a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.



MIDDLEPORT - Ruth A. Ebersbach, 82, of Middleport, died Tuesday, March 21,
2000, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 30, 1917, in Wellston, daughter of the late Emmitt J.
and Bertha Vaughn Blackburn.
She is survived by children, James Ebersbach and Darla Siley.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A.
Ebersbach.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Ewing Funeral Home. Burial will be
in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 7 to 9 p.m.



RACINE - Frances M. Miller, 82, of Racine, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at
Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1917, in Letart Falls, daughter of the late Roy and
Elizabeth Cleland Roush.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Leroy Miller; daughters Loretta
Cochrun and Claudia Hadley; and sons Herbert Miller and Jeffrey Miller.
Private services will be held for the family. Arrangements are by Fisher
Funeral Home in Pomeroy.


RACINE - Harry Carlos Hill, 87, of Racine, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at
his home.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1913, in Letart Falls, son of the late Albert and
Eliza Ann Miller Hill.
He was a lifelong farmer, and was baptized at Racine First Baptist Church. He
was a member of Pomeroy/Racine Masonic Lodge 164, was a 32nd Degree Mason, a
Shriner with Aladdin Temple of Columbus, former president of Southern Local
School Board, a central committeeman and a Letart Twp. trustee for many years.
He grew produce and sold it at Athens Farmers Market every week.
He is survived by his wife, Katie L. Hill of Racine, whom he married on Oct.
28, 1939; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Joe Glenn of Racine; sons and
daughters-in-law Paul E. and Crestlyn Hill, and Charles T. and Sheila Hill,
all of Letart Falls; a brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Donna Hill of
Apple Grove; grandchildren Carol Glenn Little, Brenda Glenn Manuel, Angie
Glenn Queen, Dwight Hill, Tina Hill Rees, Jarrod Hill, P.J. Hill, Tom Hill,
Jodie Hill Smith, Sarah Hill and Joni Dixon; great-grandchildren Shauna
Manuel, Ryan Hill, Ty Hill, Cyle Rees, Allie Rees, Brittany Hill, Katelyn
Hill, Maddison Hill, Alexis Hill, Kylie Smith, Cassie Springer and Jacob
Dixon; sisters-in-law, Pauline Hill, Inez Hill and Erma Hill; and a
brother-in-law, Harold Roush.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Hill; a
great-grandson, Jeremy Guinther; brothers St. Claire, Joe, Jerry, Clifford,
Julian, Albert Jr., Dale Wallace and John; and sisters Doris Hensler, Violet
Grimm and Marjorie Roush.
Pall bearers will be P.J. Hill, Jarrod Hill, Tom Hill, Ryan Hill, Max Hill
Jr., Dean Hill, Dave Hensler, Bob Morris and Norman Roush.
Services will be held Saturday, March 25, 1 p.m., at Racine First Baptist
Church, where the body will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until time of
services. The Rev. Rick Rule will officiate. Burial will be in Letart Falls
Cemetery.
Friends may call at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, W.Va., on Friday, March
25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where Masonic rites will be conducted by the
Pomeroy/Racine Masonic Lodge 164 at 7:30 p.m.
