In general it is always a good idea to save a data file in another name.
When there is some extra risk involved this is essential. Just make a COPY
and name it something else. You might even put it in another directory or
another drive. Or take it off on a floppy.
All this guarentee's that you have a true copy IF some disaster occurs.
I don't know how you make backups BUT good backups should be on another
media. A back-up file on your hard drive may well be useless if you hard
drive goes down and the backup file cannot be retrieved or completely re-
stored.
I reccommend a tape back-up and then USE IT monthly or more often to
back up your entire hard drive contents. I always keep a back up tape in
the local bank vault. Currently they are not expensive and Tecmar makes
a good one for a domestic computer.
