Subject: [OHMEIGS] St. John's Cemetery Photos Added
Date: Thu, 6 Mar 2003 06:07:31 -0800 (PST)
Yahoo Members and Rootsweb Members,
I added another cemetery to be viewed for a few weeks.
It is St. John's of Pomeroy. I did not add every picture
I took, only the ones with complete names, no tombstones
with just initials.
A little background on the pictures. They were taken
about a year ago. Curtis told me where to go, but
that was almost not enough. I looked around saw nothing
but a few houses and a steep hill. I asked one of the
residents about a grave yard, and he didn't know anything.
I looked up the hill and saw a path where heavy equipment
had gone up. I followed the path and the gravesite was
at the top of the hill. At the corner of the gravesite
is a transmitter tower now, FYI. Also, I've been told
not to go to this cemetery during late spring-fall, because
of the snakes, etc. So if you plan to visit, do it early
enough in the season.
