Occasionally I buy things off of ebay. I also keep track of things that are on the Gallipolis listing of articles. This one is of great interest. CHECK IT OUT. It maybe of interest to those of you who are Meigs/Gallia people.

Huge lot of old cabinet photos and tintypes, all removed from same photo album, album was falling apart so I discarded it. Most look to be from central Ohio, others from Missouri. First page of album, which I saved said "Presented by Wm. Hoffman to Ella Hoffman, Dec 26, 1895. There are 13 tintypes in size, 2 1/2 by 3 1/2, some in sleeve frames. There are 11 of the small 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inch cabinet photos. There are 32 of the approx 4 by 7 inch cabinet photos. Two have a name written on back Ollie VanSandt, 10 yrs old, and Jacob Tipton, from 1894 taken at Hulbert & Son studio, Middleton, Ohio. Some of the other studios are Mercer Gallipolis, Oh; Kirkindoll & Whealdon, Vinton, Oh.; JP Fields, Harrisonville, Mo.; WH Wells, Columbus; Imperial Portrait, Chicago; Bert L. Robinson, Harrisonville, Mo.; Fenner, Gallipolis, Oh.; Catterlin the Artist, Bolkow, Mo.; Cherrington, Marysville, Oh.; Curtis, Pomeroy, Oh.; Lots of great old images including an older man with what looks like a !

and ribbon on his chest. Back side says "Age 64, 1897", no doubt a Civil War vet. Most in pretty good to very good shape. A few have some wear and bit of fading. Although the old album was destroyed the photos kepy pretty well. The tintypes are much clearer than my dark photo indicates. Album also has an obituary and newspaper photo for a Rev. Sam Fulton who died in 1912, born in 1856. He had been living in Brunswick, Ohio. I think the photo may match a couple of the people in the regular photos.
