According to the "Mercer County Ohio History 1978" edited by Joyce L. Alig
on page 745:

"Father Navarron, an early French missionary administered rite of the church
to early settlers of the Chickasaw settlement in Mercer County. The
settlement and two neighboring streams derived their names from the two (Big
and Little) Chickasaw Indian tribes which originally occupied the northern
part of Marion township."

To get to Chickasaw from Celina:

1. Take S.R. 127 south from Celina.
2. Make a left (east) turn at the S.R. 274 ("T" type) intersection. You are
now at Carthagena. Don't blink or you will miss it.
3. Head east on 274 for a few miles (not sure how many but it is a straight
shot). You will then be in Chickasaw. Don't Blink or you might miss it.

The Catholic church in Chickasaw is Precious Blood.

4. If you continue east on 274 you will go through the towns of New Bremen
and Kettlersville before you reach I-75.
Hope this helps everyone.
