RIPE IN YEARS
THEY FALL AT THE TOUCH OF DEATHS SICKLE

Eliza Jane Dibble was born in the state of Maine, Febuary 7,1813, died
in Center township,Mercer county, Ohio, August 6, 1898, aged 85 years, 5
months and 30 days. She was married to Lyman Dibble Febuary 17, 1831,
and to this union was born four children, two sons and two daughters,
all of whom survive her. She with her family moved to Champaign county,
Ohio, in 1842, was coverted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in
1843. Moved to Mercer county in 1855, and joined the M.E. church in
Celina when there were but five members here. Her husband died July 24,
1869, and since that time she has remained a widow, and together with
her youngest daughter, Fannie, has lived on the old home farm. She lived
a faithful, consistent christian life. She leaves four children, eleven
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a host of friends to
mourn her loss. Her funeral services were held at Center Chapel by Rev.
J.J. Richards after which the remains were interred in the Old Town
Cemetery. Respected and loved by all who knew her, her long residence in
this county gave her an extended acquintance and her funeral was one of
the largest ever held in the county.
