Karen, I am concerned about the older section of the Stringtown/Otterbein
cemetery on S.R. 707 between US 33 & S.R. 118 and wondered if the Society
has any intention of trying to do anything about it? The stones are falling
over where the ground has "heaved" and there are several larger stones that
could fall on someone plus take out a few other stones when they go unless
something is done.

My grandparents, great grand parents and great great grandparents and many
other family members are buried there.

I'd be more than glad to come up and talk to any orginization or group about
Operation Flag, a volunteer group that cleans up & restores cemeteries in
Franklin Co. Maybe we could get something like that going in Mercer
Co....and help if we could get a group together to re-set the stones and fix
up the cemetery while there is still something left to fix.

Also, are you aware that most Ohio Homeowner Insurance policies have a
"cemetery stone clause" and will pay at least part of the cost of replacing
or repairing a stone of a family member that has been stolen or vandalized?
