I tried to respond offlist, but only "approved senders" are accepted.

I am new on the list too and therefore no idea who she was. But I can
suggest another option.

All the counties have genealogy web sites available through USGenWeb.com and
many of those offer lists of volunteers who will do lookups.

It might even have a link to the Historical Society (or you could probably
get that from a Google search). Perhaps you would recognize her name if you
saw it.
