This all I have on my Smith family...

Joseph L. SMITH - b unk d unk m unk

He married Mary GARDNER. They had the following children:
Mary Elizabeth SMITH (b abt 1831) is the only one I know of.

Mary Elizabeth SMITH was born abt 1831 in Monroe Co, Ohio; died on Apr 7
1900 in Franklin Twp, Monroe Co, Ohio; buried in Mt Tabor Cemetery, Noble
Co, Ohio

She married Amos CURTIS in 1850 in Franklin Twp, Monroe Co, Ohio. They had
the following children:
Alvira J. CURTIS (b 1850),
Mary A. CURTIS (b 1851),
Sarah A. CURTIS (b 1854),
Nancy Elizabeth CURTIS (b 1856),
James Leroy CURTIS (b 1858),
Joseph Linus CURTIS (b Feb 1861),
William Leonard CURTIS (b 1862), - my line m Mary Ann Swain, Dec 23 1882
Moses Horton CURTIS (b Nov 10 1863),
Coleman Lawrence CURTIS (b May 1867),
Henry Smith CURTIS (b 1868),
Emmett Oliver CURTIS (b Feb 12 1871),
Joanne (Jennie) CURTIS (b 1874).

Individual note: Age 19, 1850 census.
Age 28, 1860 census
Age 43, 1870 census
Age 48, 1880 census. Parents b. VA.
Death note: Info says she died in 1900 in Franklin Twp of Monroe Co,
however, there is a possibility she actually died in Stock Twp of Noble
Co...The area where the Curtis family land holdings were mostly located was
near Carlisle (now Berne), Oh, which was in Franklin Twp, Monroe Co, until
1851, when Noble Co was formed and that area was then a part of Stock Twp,
Noble Co...We are desperately trying to acertain which place of death is
correct.

It is possible Amos and Elizabeth did reside in Franklin Twp, Monroe
Co....Stock Twp and Franklin Twp are adjacent to each other. There is some
indication that Amos and Elizabeth were not close to the Carlisle group
headed up by his uncle, Eli Curtis. Eli Curtis had vast land holdings in
and around Carlisle where his father Jonathan had resided, but it appears
Ezra, Amos' father and Eli's brother went there separate ways.....Eli and
all his family are buried at Curtis Ridge Cemetery while, Ezra's grave is
not yet known. Amos and Elizabeth are both buried at Mt Tabor Cemetery in
Stock Twp of Noble Co a short distance sse from Carlisle, but very close to
the Monroe Co line.

Bob Curtis in San Antonio, TX....formerly from Cambridge, Guernsey Co,
Oh...familiar with
searching in Monroe and Noble Counties for CURTIS, SWAIN, HENDERSON, KING,
SMITH,
et al...
