Peggy sent us the below names of John Morris from the DAR.

I am interested in this second one.

1) JOHN b. 1715 VA d. ---NC m. (1) XX PS NC
2) JOHN b. 1738 WL d. 1796 MD m. (1) (Maria) Hannah Downing Pvt MD

Does anyone know the name of his children? Does anyone know whether he came
with other members of his family and if so, who?

Our Henry Gustler Morris was supposedly a descendant of a Morris from
Wales. Henry Gustler Morris and Thomas B Morris, although settling in
Monroe County, Ohio, were both born in DC in the 1790's.

> This is how they are listed in the book. The abbreviations at the end of
each listing give the Patriot's rank or service during the Revolution (not
all were soldiers). Ones that have PNSR or WPSN at the end means there is a
Revolutionary soldier's pension or widow's pension file (respectively) at
the National Archives. An absence of those abbreviations does not
necessarily mean that there isn't a pension file, it just means that whoever
proved that soldier's service and joined the DAR through him did not use the
pension file as one of their proofs.
