My ggg-grandfather Philip Yockey married an Elisabeth Schaub between fall 1860 - 1868 when my gg-grandmother Lizzie Yockey was born. He is listed at home with his parents' family (he was 23) in 1860, Center Twp--Jacob and Magdalena Yockey. Elisabeth died in childbirth or shortly thereafter with Lizzie's sister Mollie in early 1870. Family tradition says Elisabeth Schaub Yockey's mother was also an Elisabeth. The only obvious possibility from the 1860 census is a Mary E. Schaub, but the Elizabeth listed in her family was only 9, too young to have married within the next several years.

I suspect that Elisabeth's parents may have been Michael and Catharina Schaub of Summit Twp (ages 57 and 59 on the 1860), who had an Elisabeth the right age (18). I saw Catharina listed as Catharina Elisabetha on a website, but it only covered the Schaub children born in Germany, not the ones born in Ohio.

Does anyone have any further information on this marriage and on Elisabeth's parents? I have tons of info on Philip's parents, second marriage, etc. and am willing to exchange!

Thanks in advance for helping!
