I am just beginning to research my grandfathers (William Ellis Thompson)
family tree. His father was Martin Bingham Thompson; Martin's parents were:
Ellis P. and Martha Thompson. Ellis and Martha had a daughter named Mary
Elizabeth who was born 10/31/1849 in Morgan County, OH.

They subsequently moved to Vernon County, WI via covered wagon sometime
before 1865.

I would appreciate any help with specific connections to this line or
direction toward useful resources in Morgan County. Also, I am looking for
a good history of Morgan County in the early to mid-1800's.
