William Westbrook Family Virginia to Ohio


William Westbrook born 1786 in Fauquier County, Virginia married Dorcas
and/or Lady Enoch Moffat/Moffett 1 Jan 1811 in Frederick County, VA.
He died in Caldwell, Ohio. In the Fredrick County, Virginia Marriage
Bonds books it lists a John Moffett (note the spelling)
the father of Darcus as the bondsman for her wedding. The marriage
entry reads this way: 31 Dec. 1810 William Westbrook & Darcus Moffett,
daughter of John Moffett, the bondsman.

Their children were:

1. Margaret Westbrook married Francis Glidden. Francis Glidden was born
3 Aug 1826 in Morgan Co., Ohio, son of Thomas Jefferson Glidden and
Lavina Blake. He married Margaret Westbrook on 2 Apr 1845 in Belmont
Co., Ohio. He is in the 1830 census for Olive Township., Morgan Co.,
Ohio. Lemuel, b. ca 1846, Miles, b. ca 1848, Martha, b. ca 1850,
Lydia, b. ca 1851, Rhoda, b. ca 1853 Russell, b. ca 1858, James, b. ca
1859. [1860 Federal Census of Noble County, Ohio, family residence
was Sarahsville.]

2. Alfred Westbrook born 18 Aug 1813, Fauquier County, VA died 20 Oct
1887 in Newton Twp, Licking County, Ohio. He married Sarah Wise 20 Mar
1837 in St. Clairsville, Belmont County, Ohio. Alfred married 2nd
Matilda Lavina Armstrong, 29 Nov 1885. Marriage record in Vol. 8 of
"Genealogical Records in Belmont Co." (GRBC) compiled and pub. by the
Belmont Co. Chapter/OGS: William Jarvis, Minister of the Gospel, Book
4, pg. 279 (actual page in marriage records)

3. William A. Westbrook born 1816 in VA died 8 Mar 1894 in Washington
Twp, Monroe County, Ohio. (Graysville Cemetery). He married Mariah
White 16 Mar 1840 in Belmont County, Ohio.

4. Wesley Jackson Westbrook was born 1 Mar 1819 in Shenandoah Valley,
VA. He died 1 April 1893 in Pleasants Co., WV. He married Barbara E.
McMullen 3 Feb 1842 in Belmont Co., Ohio.

5. Lemuel P. Westbrook born 13 Jan 1822 in Virgina died 8 Aug 1898 in
Bethel Twp, Monroe County, Ohio. He married 23 March 1846 Elizabeth S.
Lingo in Belmont Co, Ohio by Robert Clandy, J.P. Elizabeth was the
daughter of Samuel Lingo, b abt 1794-d July 26, 1834, Sussex Cty, DE and
Nancy ? Samuel was the son of John Lingo and Elizabeth Burton. John
Lingo was the son of Samuel Lingo and Comfort Stuart. All of Sussex
County, DE. Lemuel P Westbrook and his wife Elizabeth S. Lingo
Westbrook are buried in the Creighton Ridge Cemetery, Monroe County,
OH.

6. Thomas Westbrook born 1823 in Virginia married 1857 to Rozann _____?

7. Elizabeth Westbrook born 1829 Isaac White married 12 Dec 1844.

Any information on these Westbrooks would be appreciated.
