Hello Teresa and Gary;

My 4gr grandfather, George McCreary, was a close freind of Evan Holt Sr. In
fact, Evan was a witness to George's Revolutionary War pension application
in 1834. We also beleive Geroge and Charity were related back in PA.

My 3gr grandfather married Mary Holt in 1810 in (then) Knox County. She died
in 1831 and is buried in the Evan Holt plot in the Chester Baptist Church
Cemetery. She had to be related to Evan, but I have yet to find the
connection.

I have gravestone pics of Evan and Charity, Mary (Holt) McCreary as well as
others from the above cemetery. I also have an article about Evan and his
family that I copied from a History of Morrow County that I copied while at
the Morrow County Gen Soc.

I also have a distant cousin that has a very well done Evan Holt genealogy.
Her name is JoEllyn Pedota and her email addy is; . I'll
bet she would love to hear from you.

Susannah Holt born 02 Dec,1784, New Jersey, James Irwin born 02 Dec,1779,

they moved to Ohio in 1805. James and Susan followed Susan's father to
Chester Twns., Knox Co., Ohio. In 1812 Their names appear in the Charter of
the Welsh Baptist Church. James parents of Protestent Irish Ancestory, Most
likely from Ulster, Northern Irland. They bought land for James and Susan
in what is now South Bloomfield, Morrow Co., Ohio. Susan stayed with her
parents, while James and her brother James Holt were building a log cabin.
James Holt, later bought land near Susan, and built his own Cabin. Both
families would live there the rest of their lives. James fought in the War
of 1812, first in Captain Jacob Young's company from Knox and Richland
Counties, from Aug 26 1812 to Oct.31 1812. Then in Captian Patrick Shaw's
company from Feb 8 1813 to Aug 6 1813. After the war, James became a
Pioneer Clergyman of the Baptist Church in Knox County Ohio. Susan and
James had four children
