Don,

There are two places you might look. Some of the older land records have been placed with the Ohio Historical Society
while others can be found at the county recorder's office. The Bureau of Land Management's site also has land patents
that can be searched, viewed and printed but most are before the dates you specified.

I have links on the Muskingum OHGenWeb site to lists of the Patents available on the BLM site which you can find at:

If you find your ancestor listed in there, then go to the BLM site and do a search where you can then print out a copy
of the land Patent or order a certified copy.

If you did not find it on the BLM site then contact the Recorder's office at:

If they can't help then try the Ohio Historical Society as they have early records of land grants, bounty land, and land
purchases

You might also want to visit the pamphlet, "Ohio Lands - A Short History" at:
